Overview

A structured, live-patient pathway from diagnosis and planning to confident, long-term prosthetic restoration

Consult to Insert is a comprehensive, four-part live-patient implant programme designed for clinicians who want to build confidence, predictability and clinical competence in implant dentistry.

The course follows the complete implant journey, guiding participants from consultation and diagnosis through to surgical placement, prosthetic restoration and long-term maintenance.

The programme combines structured theoretical learning with extensive hands-on clinical experience under expert supervision. Each module is designed to ensure concepts are immediately applied in practice, allowing participants to develop a clear, repeatable workflow they can confidently implement in their own clinics.

Who This Course Is For

This programme is suited to general dentists who are new to implant dentistry as well as clinicians who have previously placed implants and wish to refine their approach. It is ideal for clinicians seeking structured mentorship, live-patient experience and a deeper understanding of both the surgical and restorative components of implant treatment.

What You Will Learn

Participants will develop a strong foundation in treatment planning and case selection, supported by sound prosthodontic principles. The course covers implant placement techniques, second-stage surgery, impression taking, digital scanning, abutment selection, prosthetic design and final insertion.

Emphasis is placed on predictable outcomes, complication management, occlusion and long-term maintenance, ensuring participants can deliver implant treatment with confidence and consistency. The emphasis throughout the programme is on predictable outcomes, sound clinical judgement, and long-term success.

Dr Keith Doonan BDS (London) | Master of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) | FRACDS

Dr Keith Doonan brings decades of clinical experience and advanced postgraduate training in prosthodontics and implant dentistry, with a strong focus on comprehensive treatment planning, surgical placement, restorative workflows and long-term maintenance. His breadth of experience allows participants to understand not only how to place and restore implants, but how to make sound clinical decisions that support predictable outcomes.

Dr Doonan qualified from the Royal London Hospital Dental School in 1993 and later completed a four-year Masters in Prosthodontics at King’s College London. His specialist training in prosthodontics underpins the restorative and biomechanical principles that are essential to successful implant dentistry, ensuring implants are placed and restored with the final prosthetic outcome always in mind.

He has lectured extensively across Australia and internationally, including Italy, New Zealand, Hong Kong and South Korea, and was a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland from 2007 to 2010. Dr Doonan is currently on the educational faculty of the Dental Protection Society and is a presenter for 3M, Hu-Friedy and Neoss, reflecting his close involvement with contemporary clinical materials, techniques and workflows.

In addition to his clinical and academic credentials, Dr Doonan’s background in theatre, short films and stand-up comedy strongly shapes his teaching approach. His delivery is engaging, interactive and highly practical, helping clinicians absorb complex implant concepts with clarity and confidence.
