Hands on Surgical Implant Program

This course is ideal for clinicians who want to gain experience in the surgical
placement of dental implants. 

Learning objectives
  •  learn the process of patient selection, site selection 
  • surgical placement based on the prosthetic requirements to achieve both a functional
    and aesthetic outcome

A/Prof Anthony Lynham

A/Prof Lynham completed his surgical training in maxillofacial surgery in Queensland. A Fellowship visit to Switzerland enabled him to gain further experience in this fascinating surgical field. A/Prof Lynhams’ practice includes dento-alveolar surgery, dental implants, wisdom teeth, facial trauma and reconstruction, sleep apnoea surgery, bone grafting, and oro-facial pathology. He presently is a Clinical Director at the Jamieson Trauma Institute at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and practices privately as a member of the
Queensland Maxillofacial Group. He holds academic posts as an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and Adjunct Professor at
the Queensland University of Technology. He sits on the Advisory Board of the ARC Training Centre for Cell and Tissue Engineering Technologiesand is a Director of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service.

Dr. Gregory J Peek

Greg completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours at the University of Sydney, Australia in 1985. Following Graduation Greg served as a Dental Officer with the Australian Defence Forces before completing a Master of Dental Science (OMS) at the University of Queensland and the specialty stream exit examination of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Greg then worked as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Royal Australian Naval Hospital and the Manly District Hospital in Sydney before joining Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital and Ipswich General Hospital. Greg moved to full time private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, most recently working in a multidisciplinary specialist practice. On retiring from practice Greg recommenced his involvement in dental education at the University of Queensland Dental School before accepting a position at the University of Aberdeen as a Clinical Lecturer where he is currently the Senior Clinical Lecturer.

Mark graduated BDSc with Honors from UQDS in 1983. After several years in private practice he commenced specialist
training In Prosthodontics at Marquette University in Milwaukee, USA achieving a Certificate in Prosthodontics in 1989
and a Master of Science Degree in 1993. On return to Australia Mark worked several years as a Clinical Teaching Registrar at the UQDS before returning to full-time private practice at BOH Dental. Mark still works full-time in private practice at Restore and continues to provide fixed, complex, removable and implant prosthetic services to people of
all ages. Mark is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics with AHPRA and maintains membership of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontics, the Australian Registration Form - Brisbane Cadaver Course Prosthodontics Society, the International College of Prosthodontics and the Academy of Osseointegration. Mark enjoys the pursuit of new evidence-based treatment modalities to deliver the most up-to-date care to his patients. He enjoys mentoring dentists in comprehensive aspects of patient focused care within the discipline of prosthodontics and restorative dentistry.
