Overview

Advance with Australia’s top implant educator at the edge of the reef.

Implantology Foundations is a two-day, hands-on program designed for general dentists seeking a clear, structured and clinically grounded entry point into implant dentistry.

This course is ideal for clinicians who are motivated to begin placing implants but want a logical, step-by-step framework that prioritises safety, predictability and real-world application over complexity. Rather than overwhelming participants with advanced techniques, the focus is on building a strong and reliable foundation that can be confidently applied in everyday practice.

Led by Dr Paul Greham, the program combines essential theory with practical training, guiding participants through case selection, surgical execution and restorative considerations. Learning is deliberately delivered in a small-group environment to ensure meaningful hands-on experience, open discussion and direct feedback throughout both days.

Participants will benefit from a carefully structured program that includes all course materials and full catering across both days, ensuring clinicians are well supported and able to focus fully on learning. The Thursday–Friday format allows time for meaningful discussion and connection during the course, including a hosted cocktails, canapés and networking event on Thursday evening, while also offering the opportunity to extend the experience into a relaxed weekend exploring Tropical North Queensland.

For many clinicians, the challenge with implant dentistry is not enthusiasm, but uncertainty around where to start and how to proceed safely. This course is designed to remove that uncertainty and provide clarity, confidence and a clear pathway forward into everyday implant practice.

Program Highlights

A Clear and Practical Introduction to Implant Dentistry

This program is built around simplicity, sound clinical judgement, and predictable workflows. Emphasis is placed on understanding why decisions are made, not just how, ensuring participants develop a strong clinical rationale alongside technical skill.

Case Selection and Clinical Planning

Participants will learn how to identify appropriate cases for early implant practice, assess risk factors, and interpret CBCT data to support accurate planning and predictable long-term outcomes.

Hands-On Implant Placement Experience

A core component of the course is practical training using the Neoss Implant System. Under expert supervision, participants will place three implants into real bone (bovine), developing tactile awareness, surgical confidence and familiarity with straightforward implant workflows suitable for everyday practice.

All surgical components and materials required for hands-on training are included as part of the course.

Surgical Protocols for Everyday Practice

Participants will develop a practical understanding of surgical anatomy, implant positioning, and simple drilling protocols designed to reduce risk and support predictable outcomes in routine clinical scenarios.

Restorative Considerations and Long-Term Outcomes

Surgical decisions are explored in the context of restoration. This module ensures participants understand how implant positioning directly influences prosthetic outcomes, aesthetics, and patient satisfaction.

Complication Awareness and Risk Reduction

Early complications can undermine confidence and outcomes. Dr Greham shares real-world insights into common pitfalls, how to recognise early warning signs, and strategies to avoid or manage complications effectively.
