ABSTRACT

The posterior maxilla is a unique anatomo-physiological area of the upper jaw where, in case of edentulism and bone atrophy, a main role is played by the maxillary sinus. Different options of prosthodontically and periodontally driven reconstruction and rehabilitation of defects in the posterior maxilla will be discussed emphasizing the lateral sinus lift without any use of biomaterial technique and its pros and cons, feasibility and reproducibility compared to other similar and/or approaches.

ABSTRACT
Modern implant dentistry is defined by precision planning, advanced technology, and increasingly predictable systems. Yet complications still occur — often not because of the plan, but because of the person executing it. The aim is to explore the overlooked role of human performance in implant dentistry, examining how fatigue, cognitive load, stress, decision-making, and burnout influence clinical outcomes.

ABSTRACT
The use of dental implants to replace missing teeth is a widely accepted treatment approach within prosthodontics. As time has progressed, various strategies and methods have been introduced for managing challenging clinical scenarios that require customized treatment plans. Significant progress has been made in the development of dental implant technology, covering both the surgical and prosthetic aspects, to satisfy the growing expectations of patients and practitioners as well. However, achieving implant characteristics that guarantee predictability and effectiveness without compromising on simplicity continues to be of utmost importance.

ABSTRACT
Horizontal and vertical defects of the alveolar ridge represent some of the most challenging conditions in implant dentistry and require a high level of surgical skill and clinical expertise to be managed predictably. PTFE membranes provide a highly versatile and reliable tool for the treatment of these defects. In this lecture, five “golden keys” will be presented that enable clinicians to perform demanding augmentation procedures with PTFE membranes in a controlled and predictable manner.

ABSTRACT

With advancements in maxillofacial imaging and technology, computer-assisted implant surgery has become widely adopted to ensure the precise placement of dental implants. Both static and dynamic computer-assisted techniques have proven effective in achieving high accuracy in conventional implant procedures. However, for complex cases such as maxillary defects and jawbone reconstruction, current digital devices and technologies often fall short of clinical requirements. While these cases can be simulated and planned digitally, accurately translating the preoperative plan into surgical execution remains challenging, as precise intraoperative guidance is difficult to achieve solely through software-based planning.

Therefore, it is essential to develop personalized digital planning protocols that adhere to the principles and workflows of digital implantology. This involves utilizing existing equipment and software to tailor digital strategies based on the specific characteristics of each case. Such personalized approaches are crucial to fulfilling diverse clinical treatment needs and achieving optimal therapeutic outcomes.

ABSTRACT

Digital dentistry has become a reality in everyday dental practice. New devices such as intra- and extra-oral scanners, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanners, computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software, and innovative fabrication procedures such as 3D printing and computerized milling have completely changed the way we diagnose, plan, communicate, and treat our patients.

More recently, the introduction of artificial intelligence has provided a further step toward fully digital workflows in daily practice. However, a proper learning curve remains essential for the correct use of these powerful new technologies. Through the presentation of different clinical cases, the lecturers will demonstrate to the audience both the benefits and the limitations of this new approach to dentistry, opening a window to the future of the profession.

ABSTRACT
Guided surgery has revolutionised the way we approach complex reconstructive challenges in implant rehabilitation of the oral cavity. In this presentation, we discuss the role of guided surgery in helping plan and execute complex cases focusing on grafted sites, complex full arch cases, the atrophic maxilla, ultimately leading to rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients. The presentation will also highlight some of the limitations of guided surgery in these types of cases, and what to consider when deciding whether to use a guide or not, and what type of guide to use.

Dr. Rosario Prisco
ABSTRACT
Implant prosthetics involves the reconstruction of teeth using metal implants placed inside the bone and prosthetic components positioned above them. The connection between these two parts is fundamentally important because, when it is precise and well designed—both mechanically and biologically—it plays a key role in long-term success. There are a significant number of implant connection types on the market, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, which greatly influence treatment-plan development. The purpose of this lecture is to highlight and compare the main types of connections by examining clinical practice and the scientific literature. In everyday dentistry, this topic is crucial because, although simpler solutions are often available, choosing the most appropriate one can be challenging.

Sweden(will combine lecture with Mr. Maik Peters) | Senior Consultant DDS, Specialist in Prosthetic Dentistry

I am a specialist in Oral Prosthetics. I received my dental degree in 2006 from Malmö University and my specialist degree in Oral Prosthetics in 2014. This means that, in addition to a 5-year dental education, I also have a 3-year specialist training approved by the National Board of Health and Welfare.
To qualify as a specialist, I worked part-time as a university lecturer in Malmö at the dental school with complex patient cases, teaching, and research. I moved to Stockholm in 2015 and then started at the Eastman Institute, where I worked as a senior dentist handling specialist cases for 3 years in the prosthetics department and performing implant surgeries in the surgery department. My interest in difficult and complex cases has led me to continuously develop and refine my treatments. This has contributed to me being one of Sweden’s most sought-after speakers in dentistry for the further education of other dentists in aesthetics and implant treatments.

ABSTRACT
Long-term success in surgical and prosthetic treatment begins well before the first incision or preparation. this lecture explores how strategic case selection serves as the foundation for predictable outcomes, reduced complications, and improved patient satisfaction. This lecture emphasizes that many surgical and prosthetic failures are not technical in origin, but rather the result of inappropriate case selection, incomplete diagnostics, or unrealistic treatment planning. By focusing on when not to treat, when to modify treatment, and when to refer, clinicians can significantly reduce biological, mechanical, and esthetic complications. Attendees will leave with practical frameworks and decision-making tools to enhance predictability, protect outcomes, and build lasting success from day one.
